SOLD “EMILY” 21″KNICKERBOCKER TEDDY BEAR ULTRA RARE ANTIQUE c.1925-30

Emily is a rare, antique 1920s Knickerbocker Teddy Bear. She is 21″ tall, fully jointed, has brown tipped long mohair with a hump back. Her limbs are straw stuffed and her head is hard stuffed while her body is excelsior.The earliest ’20s Knickerbockers had horizontal nose stitching and so does our girl. Their early bears, like this teddy, have sweet cupped ears, smaller than the later models.This feminine beauty has her original amber glass eyes as can be seen by age marks. Her bottom left paw pad is missing exposing the straw stuffing. Her bottom right felt paw has unattached felt patch which needs to be stitched or replaced. Both felt top paw pads are in good condition and show the age marks of early Knicks.Although her back squeaker is non-working and her mohair is thinning in a few spots, Emily’s beauty is unaffected. She is beautiful.
