German (1950) Clemens Sammy. For Sale with Polly’s Vintage Bears 32.95

This bear was made in Germany by Clemens in the 1950’s. They named this popular bear Sammy.
He is 14″/36cm tall and has short pile dark fawn mohair (it is slightly darker than it shows on the photos).
His mouth is open with a red felt lining, and his nose is stitched in black. He is hard filled with wood wool, and has dark amber glass eyes. .
His mohair has a sparse covering and I think it would have originally been a darker brown.
He has his original paw pads, with some wear, especially to his feet which have one or two tiny holes starting. The paws and foot pads are marked and I did not feel that I should try to rub them too hard to clean them, for fear of tearing the fabric. They are card lined and his right one has bent a bit.
Most of his stitched claws were missing so I have replaced them using the pieces left as a guide.
His small owner has marked his foot with his/her initials – HD.
He is fully jointed, and has a growler in his tummy, but this no longer works.
