Magnus is a beautiful early 1930s Merrythought teddy bear. He has his amazing Merrythought Wishbone button in his ear and the original early label on his foot which reads “Merrythought Hygienic Toys. Made in England”. He measures 19″ tall. He is fully jointed, has his original paw pads and webbed claws . He is stuffed with kapok throughout, except his head, which is wood wool stuffed. He has sympathetically replaced clear glass eyes with painted backs and his nose and mouth have been repaired. He has lost a lot of mohair over the years and is quite bald in places, but this does not detract from his beautiful face and the fact that he still has his early identification. Merrythought only started making bears in the 1930s, and only used this label and button on early bears, so this is one of their first pieces. He also has staining to his back cloth but he is so sweet and adds to his endearing history. He has been well loved.
