A 1930s button. CHAD VALLEY BRITISH HYGIENIC TOYS

A 1930s button. This is the most common button. It seems to have been made in a number of colours. They can look white or creamy white, blue or greeny blue! By 1930 Chad Valley was making many bears in different sizes and of different qualities and price ranges. They were still quite distinctive with their large noses, largely kapok stuffed bodies, chubby limbs and reinforced carded pads. Most had a rectangular white label with red writing on their foot. There are many bears in the museum with this button.
