“This french bear has been made by a company that was set up in Saint Junien (close to Limoges), West area of France, Haute-Vienne. . Those bears were sold under the label “JOY” . The owner was Paul Neumond. This french company has made bears with unusual pattern, rather big and heavy for children but it was after World War Two and having restrictions lifted , it was an idea to suggest a pattern that perfectly matches with this period where everyone started to eat better, bears included.” Eric Petit
